Saul Bass

Saul Bass was born May 8, 1920 and he was born in Bronx New York.  He was an American graphic designer and film maker and was famous for his design on animated motion picture title sequences.  He had a 40 year career and worked for some of hollywoods greatest film makers for example Alfred Hitchcock.  A well known design by Saul Bass is the AT&T globe logo.  He did his studies at the Art Students League which is located in Manhatten.  A quote Mr.Bass made famous was "Design is thinking made visual."  He designed all sorts of stuff including posters for movies that we coming out.

This poster has a very unique design.  It is one of his most known pieces of work along with this poster from the 1980 movie The Shining.

This was by far my favorite piece of work by Saul Bass.  The bright color catches your attention and the dark lettering with the scary image really gives you an idea that the movie is supposed to be scary which posters for movies should portray what kind of movie is being shown.
